Summer 2022 is in Full Swing
We are having a blast! Here's a glimpse of what it's like at Grady's these days:
New Friends & Old Friends The "new" friends have actually been spending summers at Grady's for many years - some even for decades! We have loved meeting these amazing people who have welcomed us right in and been so kind! They have even showed us a thing or two about how to have fun at Grady's! The "old" friends may not appreciate me calling them old, but they are all very special to us. In mid June, Kristy & Brent (our friends of 30 plus years) along with Brent's brother, Craig, spent some time with us at Grady's. Then in early July, we welcomed Karen, a dear friend to all of us Stanafords. She brought along with her two nearly 12 -year -olds who had a blast with all of the activities at Grady's. We loved sharing the beauty and fun of this place with all of them.

Smiles Maybe the best thing about running this motel is seeing the joy it brings our guests. Recently I spotted a Grady Guest sitting quietly in the early morning light on the dock. Her face was turned toward the rising sun and with eyes closed she was taking a moment to just be. I moved on so as not to intrude, but the peace in that moment was inspiring. Later that day I watched two preteen boys climb onto paddleboards for the first time. Their laughter and smiles were completely contagious! Later Captain Mark took them out to his secret fishing spot, and they each caught three fish!
Grady Gardens Since it's our first season here at Grady's, we continued to be surprised, sometimes daily, with new growth in the gardens on the property. Linda & Bill, the former owners, spent years building and perfecting this welcome oasis of beauty. Just as some type of flower finishes, a new type takes its place. Thank you Linda & Bill for all the hard work you put into these flower beds!
Family Fun Happily our kiddos have been able to spend some time with us! Our new granddaughter, McKenzie, is even learning what a great spot the water is! And exciting news for us is that next summer, we will welcome a daughter-in-law into the family. Congratulations to Jacob & Autumn on their engagement.
