The Ice is Out! The Dock is In!

On a chilly day in mid-April, our new dock was installed. A hearty team of true Mainers led by Pete Brown stepped up to the plate and got the job done! Pete, who has quickly become a favorite here at Grady’s thanks to his many talents and true business savvy ways, led his team in constructing the new dock pieces on land and then installing them into the cold waters of Highland Lake.

This was definitely not a job for the faint of heart as the water temperature was still in the bitter cold zone of the thermometer, and a stiff breeze carrying the coolness of the day pushed against the workers. Donning wetsuits, the team didn’t hesitate as they waded into the water taking care of what needed to be done to ensure our dock is not only attractive, but also safe.

By the end of the day, the dock was successfully erected right off Grady’s Beach.  Guests can now enjoy room for more than one boat to hook up, a ladder, two benches for sitting a spell and taking in the view, and even some solar powered lights. We are looking forward to having a blast using it this summer.
